Tap Dancer. Performer. Choreographer. Speaker. Believer. Montreal native Travis Knights is realizing his dreams, pounding rhythms on wood floors all over the world. His talent and dedication have earned him audiences in Berlin, Genova, Chicago, New York, Washington D.C. and Vancouver to name a few. He has worked on film and television with Gregory Hines, Savion Glover, Patrick Huard and Gregory Charles.
In 2006, before earning his Bachelor's Degree in International Business, Travis was tapped to be the principle dancer in the motion capture process for the video game adaptation of Warner Brother's Happy Feet. In 2007, he was selected to lend his percussive sensibility as a Tap consultant to the Cirque du Soleil for their first dance research project.
In 2008, he was cast as a soloist in a touring show called 'Wonderland: A Tap Tribute to Stevie Wonder' with Ayodele Casel, Sarah Savelli, Jumaane Taylor and Shihan the Poet. He also realized a dream the same year, performing at The Apollo Theatre in Ayodele's 'Diary of a Tap Dancer' with Jason Janas.
Now hailing from Toronto, Travis is putting his career in high gear by tapping into his passion and working with the best of the best in the Tap Dance and Entertainment Industry. Last year he also collaborated with Genevieve Cleary, Heather Cornell, Lisa Latouche, Maud Arnold, Rene Simard and a myriad of artists who continue to impact Travis' artistic flavour. Watch out for him, because the best is yet to come.
